she saw his face light up but quickly looked back at Billy

"Yeah, you guys should hang out again, I'm sure that'd make her happy." I smiled even more. "That'd be great." I almost feel like laughing, then I turn towards Amber, and my smile disappears. "Oh righ! uh...Am you really should meet Bella, shes so awesome! My best friend." I hid my smile but you could still in my eyes how much I was in love with Bella by the way I talked about her.

she faked a very believable smile
"That'd be great.."
her mobile phone started to ring
"Oh, i have to take this, excuse me,"
she walked out to just outside the front door and answered her phone

Billy nodded towards her. "Oh hey Charlie," He said "Could you go into the kitchen and get my chips, I'm getting kinda hungry." Charile walked towrds the kitchen, and Billy's face became serious. "Jake...is this girl-"
"Yeah, she's like me."

her mom yelled at her on the other end
"No, mom i'm fine....yes, i'm sure...i know you and dad were worried...y-yeah..i know Rick would be disappointed in me if he was here...i have to go, mom...i'll be home later.."
and before her mom could protest, she hung up

With my wolf senses I could hear Amber's side of the conversation. Charlie walked into the room "Here ya go Billy." He tossed the bag at him and Billy caught it. "I'll be right back I say." I walk outside.

she glanced at Jacob
"...I'll come inside in a minute..."
she looked down

"What's wrong Am? What did she say?"

"Its not important, Jake..."
she shook her head and put her phone back in her pocket

"Are you sure...?" I reach out my arm towards, then decide better of it and drop my arm.

"Yes, Jake...i'm sure.."
her phone started ringing again but she let it go onto voicemail

"Amber, its your father. Your mother just told me that you've been missing all night. ALL NIGHT?! In a THUNDERSTORM!? She's right, if your brother was here, he would be so disappointed in you. So are we. You have a severe beating ahead of you when you get home..."

"...."

I look at her not sure what to say. "Uh..Am...I..." I sigh. "You can crash here...if you need to...."

"No...i'll see you later, Jake..."
she walked out onto the street, heading home

"Wait Amber!" I call running towards her.

she kept walking and didnt look back, her voice sounding as if she was on the verge of tears
"Just dont!"

I grab her arm and pull her into me. I wrap my arms around her. "Just let it all out. Just cry if that's what you need Am."

she turned her head away from him, her eyes hazy with tears as she looked down at the road
"Like you care...."
she didnt say it to be mean, she was confused and frightened. She closed her eyes and let a couple of tears trickle down her cheeks

I just hold her tighter to me "Of course I care! Why wouldn't I?"

"You have other things on your mind...."
she couldnt hold it in any longer. She leaned her head against his chest and cried, telling him all about how her father would hit her for not obeying orders

"I don't have other things on my mind."
I hold onto her not letting go as she entrusts me with all of her problems. "I'm so...sorry...I wish I could do...SOMETHING!"

"thats not the worst part..."
her breath caught nervously in her chest
"...l-last month, h-he was bitten by an 'animal' in Jacksonville...only it wasnt an animal..."
she looked up at him
"He's a vampire, Jacob..."

"You're father is...a...vampire...?"

she sighed
"We were all separated...we got lost in the crowds...i ended up being bitten by a 'wolf...and he ended up being bitten by a vampire...he can catch my scent miles away, and he hates me for it..."

I look down at her, my eyes wide in shock. "You can't go home to...to...him!"

"I...i have to...if i'm not there who knows what might happen to my mom and my sister?"
she clenched her fists
"I'd rather it be me being knocked around than them..."
