Vampire Trails

He turned his head to Jacob
"You play no part in this!"
he looked back at Amber
"Bad blood...Unclean blood...you're a disgrace, a mongrel,"
he hissed the last word like it was a disease.

Amber flinched, but kept silent, her eyes still tracking her fathers every movement

Leah didn't like being forgotten, so she pounced on him knocking him to the ground. She growled fiercely.

Amber pushed herself to her feet, whimpering as another shard of glass embedded itself in her hand when she put her hand on the cabinet to steady herself
"Wheres Jeremy...?"
She muttered

Her father grabbed the wolf by the back of the neck and flung her off
"I got hungry.."
he grinned evilly

"....YOU SON OF A BITCH! HE WAS ONLY A BABY!"
She yelled, hot tears stinging her eyes as she lunged at him, pinning him to the floor to let leah tear him apart

Leah almost smiled with her muzzle. Then she lunged for him again and ripped off his head.

I found some wooden chairs and broke them then ran outside to the yead and droped all the broken peices.

Amber continued pinning him down, only letting go when his body ceased to move. She bolted upstairs to check on Jeremy, to see if he'd really fallen victim to their fathers thirst

I pulled out a lighter and the wood caught on fire instantly. "Bring the peices over her Leah." She rolled her eyes, but did as I told her to. She dumped the peices into the fire and watched them as it all burned.

she ran into the room and picked up the baby from its cot. She felt just under its chin to try and find a pulse. She waited, and nothing came. She noticed a pair of fang marks in his side and began to cry

"I'll be back." I mutter to Leah, eventhough she didn't listen to me. I ran upstairs to find Amber crying with a baby in her arms.

"6 months old....his body couldnt take the venom..."
she murmered, her voice choked with tears
"Now i've lost both of my brothers...."

I look at her, then the baby....
I stay quiet not knowing what to say.

"Just go, Jake..."
she put the baby down again and covered it in the cloth
"If you dont wanna be here, just go..."
she turned away so he wouldnt see her tears

I look at her still saying nothing. I walk towards her and wrap my arms around her from behind. "I won't leave you." I squeeze her to me.

she leaned back against him hesitantly, grateful for his company
"Thanks..."

"No problem..." I whisper.

she stood there with him holding her for a while, then moved out of his grip
"I cant stay here anymore...not after all of this,"

"Then...just come with me...at least...for tonight....or however long you want...."

"I can't...that isnt fair on you or Billy...i'll just go back to Jacksonville..where this all started.."
she clenched her fists.

I grab her arm "Please...don't...go..." I whisper.

"If i stay, God knows whats gonna happen to my mom and my sister! All the leaches in the area will have seen that fire. They'll KNOW, Jake...And they know i live here, and what i am...i can't put them in danger..."
She leaned up and kissed him gently.
"I can't let anyone else i care about get hurt..."

"Amber...are you...are you sure?"

She sighed.
"You know...i didn't think it would be this way...I expected to go through school, graduate, find a guy, fall in love and be happy...Now...Well, I guess i'm on my own..."
She tried to walk past him.

I grabbed her once and pulled her into me. I kissed her without letting go.

Her eyes widened in shock for a second before she relaxed and kissed him back, closing her eyes.

I pull away, and put my hands on your face forcing you to look at me. "Please...Am...don't go...." I begged.

"Why shouldn't i..? My family won't want anything to do with me...give me one good reason to stay.."
She tried to make her voice sound strong, but it still wavered, as if she was on the verge of tears.
